State-of-the-art datacenter
APA’s datacenter has infrastructure
designed to eliminate single points of failure. The
datacenter has multiple power and HVAC resources,
automatic fire detection and suppression systems,
multiple Internet service providers to ensure uninterrupted
connectivity as well as internal server redundancy
to support the highest standards of uptime and performance.
Innovation and change are the hallmarks
of technology and myriad new choices for hardware
and software enter the marketplace each day. APA deploys
technology utilizing solutions from Intel™,
Cisco Systems™, APC™ and other recognized
leaders in the industry. We believe that these sources
offer "best in breed" solid, stable and
well-supported platforms upon which to build our business
and your confidence. Economies of scale enable us
to provide these higher-end products at affordable
cost to our clients.
HIPAA-ready Security
Back-up and secure storage, disaster
prevention and recovery, intrusion detection, virus
protection, password control and Internet content
filtering is integral to all APA networks. APA understands
the issues surrounding the security of system data
both from the perspective of technology and in the
broader context of HIPAA. APA provides solutions
that are HIPAA-ready today and can reduce your local
in-office compliance costs as well.
Disaster
Prevention and Recovery
Downtime in a practice management setting can be disruptive
and produce patient dissatisfaction as scheduling
or registration functions are disabled. As physicians
move to a digital, electronic medical record environment,
even a few moments of downtime can bring patient care
to a standstill.
APA has designed its infrastructure
and implemented operational policies and procedures
to protect against downtime and data loss. Fault tolerance, server redundancy, mirrored-drives,
regularly validated backups, offsite data storage,
offsite server replication and a host of other automated
and monitored steps are in place to ensure unimpeded
client access to secure data.
Disaster
Recovery Hotsite
In addition to the security and redundancy deployed
at the primary datacenter, APA has created a geographically
remote hotsite to ensure that clients will continue
to be operational in the event of a true disaster.
The hotsite is located in another county and is serviced
through a power grid and telephone central office
that are totally separate from those servicing the
primary datacenter. In the event of a true disaster,
clients would be able to access their data via APA's
remote hotsite.
Application Hosting
APA can provide application hosting services for software
requiring either UNIX™ or Microsoft™ operating
systems. APA can host other practice management systems
or electronic medical record products and currently
serves as a beta-tester for a variety of third-party
products designed to enhance practice operations and
patient care. For those practices or organizations
that prefer continuing the use of specialized software
applications, APA can host or integrate these functions
onto the same desktop as APA's supported products.
